LoungAir’s® versatility boasts 4 positions vs. AeroBed’s® one
AeroBed® has been rightfully credited for giving us the ‘air bed’ as we know it today. They did this some thirty plus years ago selling on QVC as well as through their infomercials…notably the one with the de-clawed tiger on their mattress.
What AeroBed® essentially did was to take the concept of a vinyl pool float from the 1960’s and supersized it the size of a regular mattress. The problem with this idea is that you have one homogeneous sleeping surface which can only provide relative comfort due to the fact that it is only one air bladder (air bag).
I, Victor M. Kasatshko, proudly invented the LoungAir® in order to ‘try’ to help me with my lower back problems. It was my severe lower back problems which led me to hire a professional medical products developer, Mr. Nicholas Webb, to help me to develop a product that would give me some relief. As a result of our efforts we were granted a utility patent for the LoungAir®.
What makes the LoungAir® special as a sleeping surface is the fact that we have two independent air chambers. This is crucial since now I could adjust the chamber under my upper body to one firmness (comfort setting) and inflate the lower chamber to another firmness. It is this duality that allows people to use the LoungAir® sleeping surface so effectively.
As happens many times when one is inventing and developing a product…the final product sometimes throws a bonus your way. In the LoungAir® case the bonus is that after Mr. Webb and I solved the lower back problems we saw the opportunity to make it multi-functional and thus we added the third chamber which would incline one of the air chambers in order to allow me to go to sleep at a slight incline (which helps me tremendously with my acid-reflux) and also relieve the back pains. The first solution was to employ a triangular wedge to achieve this ‘inclination’ but this simple design consumed too much air volume to fill so we started designing a reduced-volume inclining chamber and soon came up with the u-shape we now employ to make the LoungAir® recliner. Here is that ‘design bonus’ that inventors get every once in a blue moon…the u-shape inclining chamber worked perfectly as a back rest when the LoungAir® was flipped over thus giving us a third function, the LoungAir® lounger. But wait, there’s more, (sorry, I could not help that one!) when the LoungAir® lounger is folded onto itself we get the LoungAir chair! So we end up with four extremely functional furniture products in one design…The LoungAir®.
Almost forgot…it is due to our patented multi-chamber feature that LoungAir® is the only air product that has been awarded the Orthopedic Research Institute’s Seal of Approval!
So one can buy an AeroBed® and use it to sleep on once a year when guests show up or one can buy the LoungAir® and have the whole family use it daily for watching TV, video gaming, lounging by the pool, slumber parties, tailgating and yes even sleeping comfortably on a multi-chamber air surface.
I thank you for your interest.
